Early Bird Scene Plate

This is a superb plate made by Meissen around 1740-50. It is handpainted with a great bird scene in the center including one large bird and a smaller one sitting in some greenery. There are also 4 bugs painted in the well including a fantastic butterlfy and three flowers and a butterfly on the rim. The flowers are still in the woodcut style which is my favorite. Between the flowers there is a nice design to the paste and the nicely shaped edge has a gold trim to it. The plate is in great condition with some wear - the gold trim on the edge is worn and there is some stacking wear to the greenery and one bug. Some use marks as well but the plate displays beautifully and the scene is superb! The plate is 1.25 inches tall and 9.375 inches in diameter. Marked underneath with the underglaze blue crossed swords as well as an impressed number 19 or 61. Please email me for more information or other pictures.
