1740's Group of Mezzetin & Harlequina

This is a rare figurine made by Meissen in the 1740's. It is about as early a figurine that one can find made by them. The figure is of Mezzetin (one of the Commedia del Arte figurines) and Harlequina standing together by a tree with a pug dog by their feet. This figurine has everything going for it. It was painted when it was made (very important!) and not later. It has a commedia del arte figure as well as Harlequina and a pug dog. That covers all of the most collected pieces in one figurine :) The piece is well painted and with good detail. It does have some flaws but then if I was this old I'd like to look this good :) Her left arm as well as the bird cage have been restored. The pugs left ear has been worked on and the tree was off at one point. Some leaves have been restored as well. But the main figurine is all OK and the rest is in perfect shape as well. The piece is quite heavy and just under 7 inches tall. It is unmarked but obviously Meissen. Flat base underneath typical of these early pieces.
