Superb Violinist Figurine

This is a really nice figurine made by Ludwigsburg made between 1759 and 1770 and is marked with the crown over CC mark in underglaze blue as shown. The figure is of a gentleman playing his violin sitting on a chair on which his pink coat is draped, leaning on his notes on a nice stand including a winged lady bust with a hat and a shoe on the base. A superbly modeled and painted piece that is larger than many one comes across and nicer as well. The figure is 7.25 inches tall, 5 inches wide and 4.25 inches deep. The figurine displays nicely but as one can expect on these 250 plus year old pieces there are some issues. A firing flaw on the side of the base where something stuck to it during the firing, some minor nibbles along the base edge, a chip to a corner of the hat, a very minor nibble to the underside edge of his notes, the bow for the violin is missing, the violin had broken off at some point so there is damage to where it attached to his chest, the thumb on his left hand and that left hand has been reattached. Surprisinlgy no damage to the violin so all the rest is hard to spot and he displays superbly! The piece is superbly marked with the under glaze blue CC under a crown, lots of incised letters and numbers and the painter's mark HM as shown. Please email me for more information or photos.
