Puce Scenic Creamer

This is a creamer with its lid made by Ludwigsburg between 1765 and 1770. The pot is not marked but came with the rest of the set and is quite obviously a Ludwigsburg piece. The main body is decorated with a large handpainted puce scene in the front of a couple dancing and a man playing a fiddle. There are also two flower arrangements on the sides. The nicely shaped feet, spout and handle have gold trim on them. Puce was one of the hardest colors to fire because the slightest temperature difference changed the shade of it. The large scenes are of superb quality and some of the best I have seen on Ludwigsburg. The lid has a small scene with a man fishing on it as well as two small flowers and a pear finial with two leaves. The pot with lid is 7 inches tall and 3.5 inches in diameter. Amazingly the pot is in super condition with just two tiny paint spots missing on the stem and leaf of the finial. Please email me for more information or photos.
