Puce Scenic Coffee Pot

This is a pot with its lid made by Ludwigsburg between 1765 and 1770. The pot is marked with the CC mark under the crown in underglaze blue. The main body is decorated with a large handpainted puce scene in the front of a couple dancing and a man playing the bagpipes. There are also two flower arrangements on the sides and two tiny flowers probably covering black firing spots. The nicely shaped feet, spout and handle have gold trim on them. Puce was one of the hardest colors to fire because the slightest temperature difference changed the shade of it. The large scenes are of superb quality and some of the best I have seen on Ludwigsburg. The lid has a small scene with a lady on it as well as two small flowers and an apple finial with two leaves. The pot with lid is 8.75 inches tall and 4.5 inches in diameter. Amazingly the pot is in super condition with just a small chip to the inside spout side. The lid has a hairline to it. Please email me for more information or photos.
