Puce Scenic Cup & Saucer

This is a cup and saucer made by Ludwigsburg between 1765 and 1770. Both pieces are marked with the CC mark under the crown in under glaze blue plus and impressed mark under the cup. The cup & saucer are both decorated with a large hand painted puce scene of a two people in a nice landscape surrounding. The saucer has a gentleman playing the fiddle / violin while the other gentleman is kneeling on the ground. The cup has two gentleman in deep conversation while sitting at a table with a cup on it and a jug on the ground. Three flowers filling in ther est of the space on the saucer and two on the cup with a third on the inside bottom. Gold trim to the edges and handle. The scenes are of superb quality! I had similar ones years ago on some lidded pots I am sure these would have been aprt of that set. The saucer is 1.125 inches tall and 5.125 inches in diameter. The cup is 1.75 inches tall and 2.875 inches in diameter. Both pieces are in great condition with the gold trim of the cup top rim having worn mostly off and some more minor wear to the gold trim of the saucer. They display nicely and look amazing!
