Figural Vase

This is a figural vase made by Ludwigsburg around 1785 in the classicism period. The vase has a triangular base on which three figurines (a man and two ladies - I think) stand who are holding up the vase like Atlas was holding the earth. The vase has six candleholder looking things that go into the vase and could hold flowers too. Nice arcarnus leaf decoration in relief to the top and gold highlights throughout. The piece is marked with the crown over CC mark in underglaze blue. The entire vase is 10 inches tall and 8 inches in diameter so a sizable piece. It is in good condition considering the size and nature of the piece. I took a lot of photos so look at those as well please. There is some small chipping to the rims - none of which is horrendous. The candle holders have the most damage with all of them missing a piece. The figurines are in perfect condition and the gilding amazingly is as well except where there are chips. It looks like it might have had a lid but the one in the Ludwigsburg book is the same and they have a complete inventory in it and would have mentioned one. Please email me for more information or photos.

Price is $3999
