Teapot Lid

This is a lonely lid I think was made made by Ludwigsburg in their early years for one of those globular teapots with the molded flowers along the feet. Probably around 1760. The piece is made of hard paste porcelain and is hand painted with two small single flowers in between lots of nice molded details to the porcelain as shown. Floral finial with its stem and two leaves and their typical orangey brown trim to the edge. The piece is is good condition with a minor chip to one of the leaves, the other leaf more damaged and the finial having been off and restored along some of the tips of the petals as shown. A chip to the underside ring that sits inside the opening so not overly important. Still a superb early example and a rare survivor! It's rare to see single lids like this so it's a nice opportunity to complete a piece that is missing theirs. The lid is about 1.625 inches tall without that underside ring and 2.375 inches in diameter. The underside ring that would fit inside the opening has an outer diameter of 1.875 inches so the opening needs to be at least that size or a touch bigger for the lid to fit properly. Please email me for more information or photos.
