Butcher Figurine

This is a figurine made by Ludwigsburg. It was made between 1759 and 1770 and is marked with the crown over CC mark in underglaze blue as well as a black letter L. The figure is of a butcher or street vendor selling meat with him holding a leg of some sort of animal over his shoulders, knife in his apron and an axe on a stump behind him. A superbly modeled and painted piece! The figure is 5.125 inches tall, 2.25 inches wide and 2.25 inches deep. He displays very nicely but he was once off the base around the ancles, knees and the stump which has been restored well but has discolored a bit. Also the meat part of the animal leg has had a little work done to it as has the axe handle. Small chip to the edge of the base. None of this shows when on display and he is a really nice figurine. Please email me for more information or photos.
