Bird Scene Cup & Saucer

This is a superb cup and saucer made by Ludwigsburg around 1765. Both are handpainted with a top quality bird scene as well as three/four really nice bugs and a nice gold trim. The set was painted by one of the Hoeflich brothers (the birds and bugs) and the tree by whoever the letter B signifies. The signature HO: can be found twice in the butterfly wings and was used by the Hoeflich brothers. A big THANKS as always to Dr. Hans Flach - one of the really nice experts in the field of porcelain! The set is marked with the CC mark under the crown in underglaze blue as well as an impressed number 8 on the footring and 1C near that as well as a painter's mark B in iron red on the saucer and on the cup. The footring of the cup has an impressed number 3. The cup is 1.875 inches tall and has a diameter of 2.75 inches. The saucer is 1.25 inches tall and 5 inches in diameter. Both are in super condition with just a small chip on the footring of the saucer and wear to the gilding of the top edge on the cup. Please email me for more information or photos.
