Locre Russinger Figurine

This is a really nice figurine made by La Courtille aka Locre aka Rue de la Fontaine-au-Roi of France around 1780. More than likely modeled by the famous Laurentius Russinger from Germany who previoulsy worked at the Hoechst factory. The figurine is made of unglazed or biscuit porcelain and is superbly modeled. Being left unglazed the paste has so much more fine detail to it than the glazed or painted pieces. The figurine is of an older lady standing by a stove cooking a meal with a young boy standing on the opposite side, a young mother holding her baby (or possibly an older sister watching her baby sister) and a cat relaxing by the old lady's feet. Typical detailed base with smooth sides below the top part. A ton of detail to the piece! The piece is marked underneath with their incised crossed torch mark as well as an incised monogram or letters as shown. The figure is in great condition with damage to the edge of the pot on the stove as well as the handle and the index finger missing on the rleft hand of the old lady in the same area as the broken handle. Small chip to the tip of the young lady's shoe. None is obvious and the piece displays superbly and looks amazing. Firing crack to the underside which is not visible unless turned over. The figurine is 7.75 inches tall, 6.25 inches wide and 4.5 inches deep. Please email me for more information or other pictures.
