Locre Cornflowers Cup w/ Hairlines

This is a cup made by Locre aka Rue de la Fontaine-au-Roi aka La Courtille in the 18th century. A nice looking piece that is hand painted with a version of the blue corn flower decoration that so many makers used during this period. A larger cornflower cluster to each side with two single flowers to the front as well as a leaf. Gold trim to the top edge and handle. The cup looks nice but is not in the best condition. It has wear to the gold trim, two hairlines near each other to one side that are hard to spot as well as another hairline to the front. It displays nicely and still makes for a great example and could even be used. Blue cornflowers were a favorite of Marie Antoinette and thus became very popular during this time period. The piece is marked underneath with their under glaze blue crossed arrows mark meant to imitate the mark of the top German maker. It is 2.25 inches tall and 3.125 inches in diameter.
