Locre Amazing Floral & Silhouette Vase

This is a really superb vase made by Rue de la Fontaine au Roi (aka La Courtille or Locre ) in the 18th century. Vases by them are pretty hard to find and this one here is incredible. The vase has a nice shape to it with a handle to either side, it has a white scroll design surrounded by gilding along the neck part of the vase but the best part is the main decoration. On one side it has this absolutely amazing hand painted flower blossom design to it surrounded by gilding while the other side has a silhouette of a person in black with gilding around it and this neat red scroll design on white ground filling in the rest of the space. Never seen anything like it by them!A truly special example of their work. The vase is marked underneath with the crossing swords type mark often passed as off as the top German maker which was the point of it back then as well as an incised mark common to their wares and all pieces from the Paris region of France. The vase is 8.75 inches tall, 4.75 inches wide from handle to handle and 4 inches in diameter. The piece is in great condition with some wear to the gilding along the bottom edge, the top edge and the handles. As nice as they come! Please email me for more information or other pictures.
