Liverpool Chinoiserie Teabowl

This is a really nice teabowl shaped cup made by one of the Liverpool area makers in the 18th century. In this case I think it was made by Phillip Christian in about 1765. A really nice piece by a rare maker that is hand painted with Chinoiserie scene all around the outside. There are three figures - two women and a child as well as a dog and two vases. More simplistic than many designs but I think that's what makes it look really nice. The inside edge has the typical red trim to it and there was a flower to the bottom as well as a leaf covering up a big firing flaw. The enamel colors are very nice nice and thicker than most I have come across. One can easily feel the purple, blue and yellow color. The porcelain is nice and thin. The piece is in great condition with wear to the inside trim and flower as shown. A tiny nibble to the outside top edge that does not take away from the piece. I could not find this pattern anywhere so it's not something you'll find again anytime soon. The cup is unmarked which is the norm! The tea bowl is 1.75 inches tall and just over 3 inches in diameter. Sadly no saucer! Please email me for more information or other pictures.
