Liverpool Clobbered Saucer

This is a really nice saucer made by one of the Liverpool factories in about 1780. More than likely done by John Pennington. The under glaze blue pattern is called the Chinese Lady and Sevant design and it is quite nice with a large willow type tree in the center and a landscape surrounding all around. What is unusual is that it has the over glaze red and gold design to it which is sometimes referred to as clobbered. Many times it is overkill and does not look all that great but here it really does add to the design and makes it a really nice saucer. Not a pattern I have seen this done often to before. The piece is in superb condition with some of the usual manufacturing flaws but no real damage and a bit of use marks which is normal after 250 years but it displays perfectly. It is not marked which is the norm! The saucer is 1.125 inches tall and 5.125 inches in diameter. Please email me for more information or other pictures.
