Liverpool Matching Chinoiserie Cup

This is a rare cup made by one of the Liverpool factories around 1780. Most likely by John or Seth Pennington. It is hand painted with a superb Chinoiserie scene of two figures in the center with a black building in the background as well as a tree. One figure is holding a pipe and the other a flower. Reddish brown trim to the edge. The pattern is known as The Smokers Valet . The piece matches the saucers I have on the site though the paste is a bit thicker. It is in superb condition with just some black firing spots aka kiln dust as well as a tiny hairline to the edge and the tiniest of chips to the foot ring. The cup is unmarked which is the norm! It is 2.5 inches tall and 2.375 inches in diameter. Please email me for more information or other pictures.

Price is $449
