Le Nove Soldier Cup & Saucer

This is a rare cup and saucer made by Nove around 1780. Nove was founded in 1752 (well at least the porcelain part of it) by Pasquale Antonibona. He was helped by the Ex-Meissen worker Sigismund Fischer. After a few changes in ownership, etc. it finally closed in the 1830's. The set is handpainted with a superb scene of a soldier helping a lady in a landscape background. There is a large urn type design on the saucer and two smaller versions on the cup as well in gold. Nice gold trim along the edges as well. The set is in perfect condition with almost zero wear to the gold which is amazing with all that gilding. The cup and saucer are marked underneath with a gold star and both have some residue of yellow writing underneath not sure what that means. The cup stands 2.5 inches tall and 2.375 inches in diameter. The saucer is 0.875 inches tall and 4.875 inches in diameter. Please email me for more information or other pictures.
