Leeds Pottery Candlestick

This is a single candlestick made of Creamware most likely by George Senior , Leeds Pottery of the Staffordshire region of England around the earlier 20th century. In the late 19th / early 20th century the Senior family produced redos of 18th century modeles. This piece here is a superb example of their work as it is superbly reticulated and made from original 18th century molds. Sadly just a singel stick instead of a pair but still really fun! Lots of reticulated detail as well as some molded leaves along the base edge and top. Fun columns support the top part. The piece is in perfect condition with just a brown firing spot on the trim just above the base from when it was made. The candlestick is 6.875 inches tall with the bottom part being 3.75 inches on each side. The top hole for the candle has a diameter of about 0.75 inches at the top tapering down inside to about 0.625 inches from what I can tell. This example is amrked LEEDS POTTERY underneath as shown. Truly a fun piece and quite elegant! Please email me for more information or other pictures.
