La Seynie Cup & Saucer

This is a cup and saucer made by either La Seynie or Vendrennes of France in the 18th century. La Seynie was founded in 1774 by the Marquis de Beaupoil de St. Aulaire. It was taken over by Baignol in 1789 and by Honore from Paris in 1810. Vendrennes was founded around 1800 by Marc Lozelet. Very little is known about this maker. The set is very well handpainted with a scene of a bird in a landscape background on the cup and flowers on the saucer. Both pieces have a purple trim. The color of the porcelain is very white compared to many other makers. A very warm white and made of softpaste porcelain. They are both marked in underglaze blue with an LS in script. The set is in great condition with some firing faults to the underside of the saucer. Little black specs and such mostly to the flat underside. Some wear to mostly the orange enamel in the saucer. The cup measures 2.5 inches tall and 2.5 inches in diameter. The saucer is 1 inch tall and 5.125 inches in diameter. Please email me for more information or other pictures.

Price is $999
