Lamm Superb Scenic Dinner Plate

This is a fun plate made by the Lamm studio of Dresden Germany in the early 20th century. Actually it was really a decorating studio that painted blanks made at other places which is also the case here. He founded the studio around 1887 and it closed somewhere around the beginning of the second world war. They made very high quality items and this plate is a great example of that. The plate is handpainted with a superb rim scene that goes all around and is of top quality! Nice gold ring to the edge with raised gold dots and another ring around the well of the plate with two lines of raised dots and four simple designs in the ring and then an amazing raised gold design going into the well of the plate that is just stunning! All in all about as good a plate as one can fid by them plus it is the dinner size version so that is relaly nice as well. The piece is in perfect condition with minimal wear and a tiny bit of wear. It is 1 inch tall and 10.75 inches in diameter and is marked underneath with the sheep mark with the words Dresden, Made in Saxony, the number 244 (possibly a limited edition) and Guaranteed Handpainted underneath. There is also a gold flower mark hiding another mark of the manufacturer of the blank plates underneath as shown. An amazing, elegant and decoative plate!
