Lamm Candlesticks

This is a superb set of two pairs of candle holders made by A. Lamm of Dresden around 1920. Actually it was really a decorating studio that painted blanks made at other places which is also the case here. He founded the studio around 1887 and it closed somewhere around the beginning of the second world war. They made very high quality items and these sticks are a good example of that. They are all handpainted with two scenes each - one of a gentleman and one of a lady. Then there is lots of high quality raised gold trim and the if you look very closely at the pictures - especially the ones of the sides - you can see there is a different background color in the bottom and top section of the candleholders. Just enough to make them super elegant. Nice gold trim to top and bottom as well. These are in perfect condition with the tiniest of gold wear. They are of a nice size being 9.5 inches tall and 4.5 inches in diameter. The hole for the candle is 0.875 inches in diameter. Both are marked underneath with the sheep mark with the words Dresden and Germany underneath. Also a gold rose that covers the blank porcelain makers mark and a number 718 in red which is probably a decor number. I will sell the pairs separately if someone just wants one. Please email me for more information or other pictures.

Price is $799 for both or $449 for one pair
