Kuznetsov Cup

This is an amazing cup and saucer made by Kuznetsov in the late 19th century. Not sure if this would be referred to as Gothic influenced like the famous Gothic Service of the Imperial factory at St. Petersburg or more meant to simulate cloisonné enameling but I would call is more faux cloisonne . Either way the set is superbly hand painted with a design including gilding with raised edges filled in with orange and a deep red on an aqua ground color with the rims having a gold trellise type design to in on blue ground. In between is this white line and circle design with some nice gilding around the well. The handle of the cup is just as intricately painted! Hard to describe these pieces but they are beautiful!! The nicest cup & saucer set I have seen by this maker for sure. Both pieces are in perfect condition and are marked with their gold eagle holding a scepter and orb with the Russian name underneath that. I think the gold mark was only used on their top end products and this certainly falls into that category!! There is also an impressed number 4 under the saucer. The saucer is 5.75 inches in diameter and 1 inch tall. The cup is 2.75 inches tall and has a diameter of 3.125 inches. Please email me for more information or other pictures. kuznetsoff kusnetzoff
