WWI Reticulated Basket

This is a fruit basket made by KPM during WWI in the early 20th century. A shape I ahve not seen by them before but is much more well known from Meissen! It is reticulated all around, has applied flowers and vines, a branch handle to either side that goes down and mkes the feet as well. The piece is hand painted with a small flower arrangement to the front and back outside as well as inside and a superb larger arrangement to the bottom inside. Lots of nice gilding all around. The outside has lots of gold trim as well as blue lines to the reticulated area. A really nice looking piece and I would say it is the nicer of the two manufacturers but then I really like KPM porcelain :) The basket is marked underneath with the under glaze blue scepter mark as well as the red orb, the usual painter's marks and the Iron cross for the period during World War I . The basket is in superb condition with two of the applied flowers on the outside having a little damage as shown. The piece displays perfectly and looks stunning! The basket is 4.5 inches tall, 12.25 inches wide including the handles and 8.25 inches deep. Please email me for more information or other pictures.

Price is $999
