Weichmalerei Leaf Dish / Wall Plate

This is a superb piece made by KPM in the early 20th century. These are quite rare and usually referred to as a wall plate or plaque but I think it is more of a leaf dish for serving treats to your company. An amazing design with the sides having elaborate scroll work and cuts outs and each end a handle of sorts that is flowing and bending. Truly a treat and it could not have been easy to fire which might explain why they are so rare. The piece is superbly hand painted with lots of gilding and the center has a large floral design to it in the Weichmalerei colors so sought after by collectors even today. It does not come much nicer than this! In fact the only other one I could find online is an Aullich signed version which is stunning! The plate is in superb condition with one teeny little rough spot to the under side edge as shown. The plate is 11.375 inches long, 9 inches wide and 2.625 inches tall at the one end with the main dish being about 1.125 inches tall. The piece is marked underneath with the under glaze blue scepter, the red orb mark, as well as the usual impressed marks and a painter's or gilders mark as shown.
