Weichmalerei Box w/ Girl Portrait

This is a rare porcelain patch / snuff / pill / tabacco box made in the Art Nouveau period by KPM around 1900. The top of the lid has a hand painted portrait of a girl / young lady on it surrounded by a nice gold trim on a raised design to the paste itself. The bottom as well as the front, back and both sides have some superb flowers in the Weichmalerei style using softer colors hand painted on them as well as some more superb gold trim. The flowers are truly stunning on this piece! The inside lid and bottom of the box have a fancy gilding design to it. The box is marked on the inside back with the under glaze blue scepter as shown. The metal mounts are probably brass/bronze. The box is in superb condition with some wear to the gilding of the underside and a glaze line to the inside lid which does not touch the sides nor does it go through to the top! The piece displays perfectly! It is 3.625 inches wide, 1.875 inches tall and 2.25 inches deep. A nice looking piece that has a nice size to it! Price is $2499
