Weichmalerei & Berlin Scenes Pot

This is a very unusual piece and unlike any other one I ahve seen before. It is a pitcher / coffee pot / jug made by KPM in the early 20th century. It is hand painted with two very high quality scenes including one of the Sigessaeule in front of the Reichstag in Berlin (This scene does not exist in reality as the two are too far apart) and one of the Brandenburg gate (B randenburger Thor ). Each of the scenes is surrounded by the Neuzierat raised design that is gilded and between that are violets flowers in the Wecihmalerei style that are jsut superb. Nice handle shape and spout both of which have lots of gold trim to them. The piece is in perfect conditionbut might have had a lid at some point though there is zero wear to the top rim. The piece is 6.125 inches tall, 5.25 from handle to spout and and 4 inches in diameter. It is marked underneath with the under glaze blue scepter as well as the usual impressed marks as well as the red orb mark and the names of the scenes in black script in German as shown and off course some gilder's / painter's marks. A very nice and rare piece! Please email me for more information or other pictures.

Price is $1249
