Christmas on a Submarine Plate

This is a plate made by KPM in 1918 during World War I . This is the hardest to find in this series and it is hand painted in the Art Nouveau or Jugendstil style with a scene of two soldiers standing on top of a submarine in open water at night with one of the sailors holding a small Christmas tree in his hand. Underneath it says Weihnachten 1918 (Christmas 1918). So much for peace and so on for Christmas. A very interesting piece of porcelain with a some propaganda and history attached. The rim is nicely done as well not being the boring old kind but a bit wavy and there is a set of grey dots around the well of the plate. The plate is in perfect condition. It is 0.75 inches tall and 7.875 inches in diameter and marked underneath with the underglaze blue scepter, the red orb mark, the black iron cross of the first World War , the number 294. of the limited edition in black as well as the usual painter's marks aand impressed marks of this period. Please email me for more information or other pictures.
