Signed Orchid Plate

This is an amazing plate made by KPM in the early 20th century. It is hand painted with a rare large and very realistic scene of two different types of orchid flowers that cover the entire surface of the plate. The rim itself is painted with gold on a raised design that is quite nice and the unusual part here is that the little areas that are usually left white are also painted in gold with a vermicelli design to it as shown. The scene is much larger than normal covering the entire plate which is extra nice plus it is signed by the painter Heinecke which was a known painter during this period. Highly unusual to find one of these scenes painted - a nice bonus :) The piece is in perfect condition. It is 8.5 inches in diameter and just under 1 inch tall. The plate is marked underneath with the underglaze blue scepter, the red orb mark, Made in Germany in a red rectangle as well as the names of the orchids shown on the front - Odontoglossum Alexandrae and Zykopedalum Makai as well as the usual impressed marks of the period. Gold ring around the outside of the foot ring. Please email me for more information or other pictures.
