Seger Oxblood Lidded Vase #2

This is a superb and rare porcelain vase with its lid made by KPM around the early 20th century. The vase has a nice shape to it with groves from top to bottom at even intervals which are hard to see but gives it a more dimensional feel. It is covered with one of the famous Seger glazes (the oxblood or Sang du Boeuf color) as well as a bit of gold trim. In this case the oxblood glaze has tones of purple, blue and white in it with a nice pattern to it that resulted from it slowly flowing down the side while fired. Seger porcelain is very rare and sought after and the Chinese glazes he managed to copy are amazing! Such a deep and rich color and so different from the usual KPM colors - just stunning! The piece is 7.125 inches tall and 3.75 inches in diameter. It is marked underneath as shown with the usual scepter mark with his letters underneath and in this case also the red orb mark because of the gilding which was used after a certain period. The piece is in perfect condition. There are pockmarks all over the glaze which is completely normal on these pieces! Please email me for more information or other pictures.

Price is $1249
