Seger Oxblood Lidded Vase

This is a rare and superb porcelain vase with its lid made by KPM around the late 19th century. The vase has a nice shape to it with groves from top to bottom at even intervals which are hard to see but gives it a more dimensional feel. It is hand painted with one of the famous Seger glazes (the oxblood or Sang du Boeuf color) as well as a bit of gold trim. Seger porcelain is very rare and sought after and the Chinese glazes he managed to copy are amazing! Such a deep color and so different from the usual KPM colors - just stunning! The piece is 7.25 inches tall and 4 inches in diameter. It is marked underneath as well as in the lid with the number 68. in blue / impressed. The vase part has the usual scepter mark with his letters underneath. The piece is in perfect condition. Please email me for more information or other pictures.

Price is $1499
