Seger Oxblood Small Vase

This is a cute vase made by Seger around 1900. It is superbly decorated with one of his famous and very rare oxblood glazes in mostly purple and blue tones with the top inside being white. The Sang du Boeuf glaze is amazing and copied after the Chinese originals. The vase is in perfect condition. The thickness of this glaze is especially evident towards the bottom where it would flow during the firing process and then has to be ground down a bit afterwards. There is a tiny amount of chipping to the bottom edge which is normal and a result of the grinding process. The vase is marked underneath with the SgrP und the scepter in under glaze blue as well as some incised markings as shown. The vase is 6.25 inches tall and 2.875 inches in diameter.
