Crown Finial Perfume Egg

This is a very rare perfume bottle in the shape of an egg made by KPM in the late 19th or early 20th century. It is hand painted in the Art Nouveau / Jugendstil style of the period of the little castle on top of the Pfaueninsel in Berlin , Germany. The castle is surrounded with a nice landscape and still has the vines on the outside that have since been removed due to it being a wooden structure and needing a lot of maintanance. The scene is surrounded with a nice gold trim and has a scale design to the top on a light orange ground. The finial is in the shape of a crown which is superb and the nicest finial that they made for these scent bottles. The top of the egg where the opening is as well as the bottom of the finial are either brass or bronze metal. The lid still has the original cork which is in good shape and closes tightly enough not to fall out when the piece is inverted. Just an amazing piece that is very hard to find. The egg is in perfect condition! It is unmarked which is always the case with these eggs as there is no good spot to do so without killing the decoration. The egg is 2.75 inches tall plus an extra inch if you include the stopper and 2.125 inches in diameter. Please email me for more information or other pictures.

Price is $2499
