Griffin Pedestal Dish

This is a really nice pedestal plate / compote / dish / tazza made by KPM in the early 20th century. It has a bowl to the top that is hand painted with a stunning rose still life type scene and a nice leaf garland gold trim along the edge. The bowl sits on top of a base made up of three griffins sitting on a smaller round base holding up the dish with their wings and heads. The griffins as well as the bottom base are not glazed and the biscuit porcelain is stunning. The glaze would have hidden so much of that detail which is now sharp and amazing. The rim of the base has the same gold trim as the bowl. The piece is marked underneath with the blue scepter, the red orb mark, the anniversary mark of 1913 in red, a painter's and gilder's mark, some black numbers as well the usual impressed marks of the period. The pedestal dish is in perfect condition which is always a plus. A little bit of dirt on the unglazed parts which is normal. The top bowl has a diameter of 6.875 inches, about 1.25 inches deep in terms of just the bowl and it is about 5.375 inches tall with a base diameter of 3.75 inches.
