Rare Seger Crystalline Glaze Vase

This is a very very rare and beautiful vase made by KPM during the late 19th or early 20th century. It is decorated with the elusive crystalline glaze whose outcome cannot be predicted during the firing and was thus not economically feasible to produce except a few rare examples. The only porcelain makers that even tried were Meissen, KPM, Sevres and Copenhagen besides off course the original Chinese makers. This vase has a silvery and purplish brown streaks background color on which the beautiful shiny silver crystals grew. It's a gorgeous piece! Most of them one only sees in museums or books. The vase is in superb condition with two grey coloration lines inside the top from when it was made. Not any sort of damage just some discoloration which does not show when on display. The vase is marked with the under glaze blue scepter mark as well as the usual incised numbers, etc. that these types of pieces always have as shown. The piece is 5.625 inches tall and it has a diameter of 2.875 inches. Please email me for more information or other pictures.

Price is $1499
