SMS Churfuerst Friedrich Wilhelm Plate

This is a plate made by KPM around 1900. It is from the large dinner service from the Officer's Mess Hall of the Imperial Navy ship " S.M.S. Kurfürst Friedrich Wilhelm ". The service was only used aboard the ship when the Kaiser Wilhelm II was present himself. The plate depicts the Flag of the Brandenburgischen Navy with the blue and gold banner underneaths tating SMS Churfuerst Friedrich Wilhelm and in the well of the plate the Coat of Armor of the city of Brandenburg . Nice blue and gold trim to the edge and a thin gold line along the edge of the well. The SMS Churfürst Friedrich Wilhelm was an armored ship of the Brandenburg class in the Imperial Navy. It was christened in 1891 and was used among other places when the Boxer Revolution was going on in China but sold to the Ottoman Empire in 1910. It was sunk in 1915 by a british U-Boat. So lots of nice history attached to the plate and it has a nice look to it as well plus it's hard to find them. The plate is marked underneath with the blue scepter, the red orb, some blue numbers and marks near the foot ring and the usual impressed marks as shown. The piece is 1.125 inches tall and 8.75 inches in diameter. In superb condition with some wear to the thin gold band around the well of the plate. It displays nicely!
