Sugar Shaker

This is a great sugar caster / shaker / muffineer made by KPM around 1835. Quite a rare piece and definitely one of the nicest ones I have owned and these are hard to find! The piece is handpainted with a large floral arrangement on the front with lots of smaller flowers all around, a nice raised design to the top part highlighted with gilding and a light blue color, a floral finial and lots of holes in the top for the sugar to come out of. Gold trim to the middle section and bottom part as well as some more flowers and a butterfly. It even has an old cork in the bottom that seems to be original or at least very old. This is made of one piece - I have also seen some that unscrew but in this case there is a hole in the bottom to fill the piece and plug up with a cork. The quality is really superb and it is in amazing condition with just a tiny chip to a leaf tip of the floral finial. The pot is marked underneath with the scepter in underglaze blue and the red orb mark. The piece is 6 inches tall and 3 inches in diameter. Please email me for more information or other pictures.
