Double Inkwell with Tray

This is a nice desk set including two ink wells with their lids and a tray to hold them made by KPM in the early 20th century. The inkwells are of a nice shape based on much earlier originals and are hand painted with shades of pink, gold highlights and lots of small flowers all around. The lids are painted to match perfectly. The tray is superb with trembleuse type rings to hold the inkwell containers in place. It is also painted in pink shades and gold highlights with two nice floral arrangements in the center and two small flowers in the sections that hold the pots. The entire set looks to be based a bit on a shell design. A stunning set when you have it sitting on your desk :) The set is in great condition with a little bit of wear mainly to the top edge of the ink pots where the lids would sit - hidden from view when the lidsare in place, a firing crack to just the inside of one inkwell as shown and a very small chip to the back top edge of the tray hidden when on display it does not take away from the piece at all. The tray is 9.5 inches in wide, 6.5 inches deep and about 3.5 inches in height when the ink pots with the lids are in place. All pieces (except the lids off course) are marked underneath with the underglaze blue scepter, the red orb mark, the usual impressed marks and some painter's marks.
