Superb Mythologial Figure & Base

This is an amazing large figurine with a separate base for it made by KPM in the early 20th century. The mythological figurine which was first modeled by F.E. Meyer in the 18th century is of Mars, the god of war sitting below History which looks more like the goddess of justice to me. The figure is modeled with lots of detail and hand painted to perfection in the typical softer color palette of the Art Nouveau period. She is modeled as a blind folded muse that is holding a quill in her left hand and a ledger in her right hand. He is sitting on a block covered by a lion skin with his sword, shield and helmet by his side. The base has a lyre on it, a trumpet, some olive branches I assume, a book, a bow, paint brushes and a white flag (at least that is what it looks like). The already really large figurine comes with its own base / stand that is modeled superbly and hand painted with two Weichmalerei flower panels as well as lots of gilding much of which is raised and some red and green designs to it. Together these two make for a stunning display of one of the largest figures I have ever seen by them. The base is in excellent condition with the tiniest bit of gold wear. The stand is about 4.75 inches tall and has a diameter of 7.5 inches to the top inner part where the figurine sits and the bottom diameter is about 15 inches. The figure is in great condition with the very tip of the bottom end of the quill possibly chipped a tiny bit, one small chip to the red feather of his helmet, two leaves of the olive branch chipped and the bottom end of something that stick out underneath the book on the base is also chipped though I am not sure what that is supposed to be. All of this is really minor and invisible when on display. The piece displays perfectly! The figure is about 18 inches tall with a base diameter of 7.25 inches. Both pieces together are an impressive 23 inches tall!! Both pieces are marked underneath with the under glaze blue scepter, the red orb showing it was painted by KPM as well as various impressed marks normal to this period and painter's marks, etc. as shown. A very similar piece sold at Christie's not too long ago for just over 8K. They ahve better pictures of it as well if you'd like to take a look.
