Morning Glory Soup Cup & Saucer #1

This is a rare soup cup and saucer made by KPM in the early 20th century. Both the cup and the saucer are handpainted with a ring of morning glory flowers along the rim with lots of gilding throughout the pieces and two nicely shaped Art Nouveau / Jugenstil period handles that are also gilded. The flower painting is of superb quality and really quite elegant. The set is in perfect condition with just a touch of use seen on the gilding. The cup is 2 inches tall and has a diameter of 3.875 inches plus the two handles which stick out about 0.75 inches each. The saucer is 1 inch tall and 6 inches in diameter. Both pieces are marked underneath with the underglaze blue scepter, the red orb, the red rectangle with Made in Germany in it as well as some black artist or pattern numbers and the usual impressed marks common to the period.
