Battle of Leipzig Saucer

This is a great saucer made by KPM in the early 19th century. It is handpainted with a scene of the battle of Leipzig which was the biggest battle before WWI. It was fought on 16–19 October 1813 by the coalition armies of Russia, Prussia, Austria and Sweden against the French army of Napoleon Bonaparte. Napoleon lost and it was bascially the end of him. The handpainted scene is very detailed with all the names of the towns in the area, etc. The rim has a nice gold trim and a peach colored ground. The saucer is in great condition with very minimal wear. It is marked underneath with the underglaze blue scepter mark as well as a painters mark and the usual impressed numbers one finds on KPM of this period. The saucer is 1 inch tall and 5.5 inches in diameter. Please email me for more information or other pictures.
