Large Scenic Lidded Urn / Vase

This is a large lidded vase made by KPM in the early 20th century during the Art Nouveau or Jugenstil period. The colors are influenced by the Weichmalerei style with a superb scene on one side of a couple in a landscape setting with the gentleman showing the lady how to play the flute. A scene one sees on plates made by them during this period once in a while. The other side of the vase has a nice large floral arrangement to it. The rest of the vase is decorated with a nice light yellow color in parts as a soft green color. Lots of nice gold designs and trim and a fun snake eating its tail undeneath the main body of the vase. Original lid which is always nice to have. A truly decorative and elegant piece that is large enough for any space. The urn with its lid in place is 17 inches tall, about 10 inches from handle to handle and 7.5 inches in diameter. And the best part is that is is in perfect condition except for some black firing spots from the making that do not distract from the piece. The bottom is marked underneath with the underglaze blue scepter as well as the red orb mark, a painter's mark, some black numbers as well as the usual impressed marks of the period. The lid underside is also marked with the same painter's mark and some other marks as shown. Please email me for more information or other pictures.
