Large Potpourri #1

This is a great potpourri vase made by KPM in the 1830's. This is the largest version they come in as far as I know rather impressive! The vase is superbly handpainted with a large floral arrangement on either side as well as two butterflies. It has face - mascarone I think they are called - handles and lots more detail like raised designs around the openings of the vase as well as along the bottom. Nice gold rings here and there and a pink bow holding some grasses together on the front and back. The rose finial is spectacular! The vase is in great condition with four very minor chips to the rose petals of the finial, a tiny tiny chip to the top rim in the middle of the gold ring (not even sure how that one is possible!), the very tip of the finial stem is chipped and one leaf is chipped on the lid. The piece is 11.5 inches tall and 7 inches in diameter. It is marked udnerneath with the underglaze blue scepter mark, the red orb mark and some impressed numbers as shown. I have a second one that would work as a match for a pair! Please email me for more information or other pictures.

Price is $1499
