Kurland Large Lidded Box

This is a large lidded box from the famous Kurland service made by KPM in the late 20th century. This is one of the best and most popular services of the 20th century and a personal favorite of mine. It's like an oversized sugar bowl but I think officially it is called a candy box or bonboniere that is decorated in the Decor 73 with the turquoise ground color under the golden garlands all around the center. It has a floral arrangement to the front and back surrounded by a gold wreath and the typical alternating white and turquoise stripes with a nice finial on the lid highlighted with gilding. A superb looking piece! This size can be used in any number of ways so it's nice to have. The dish is in perfect condition. It is 6 inches tall including the finial and about 5.125 inches in diameter at the widest part. The box is marked underneath with the under glaze blue scepter, the red orb as well as the usual artist marks of the period. Please email me for more information or other pictures.

Price is $699
