Kurland Large Lidded Box Dish

This is a large lidded box from the famous Kurland service made by KPM in the later 20th century. This is one of the best and most popular services of the 20th century and a personal favorite of mine. It's like an oversized sugar bowl but I think officially it is called a candy box or bonboniere that is decorated in the Decor 41 with the turquoise ground color and the white garlands swags all around the center. It has a floral arrangement to the front and back surrounded by a gold wreath and the typical alternating white and turquoise stripes with a nice finial on the lid highlighted with gilding. Some gold trim well placed to make it a very elegant looking dish. This size can be used in any number of ways so it's nice to have. The dish is in perfect condition. It is 5.75 inches tall including the finial and about 5 inches in diameter at the widest part. The box is marked underneath with the under glaze blue scepter, the red orb as well as the usual other marks of the period as shown. Please email me for more information or other pictures.

Price is $599
