Knitting Girl Figurine

This is a superb and difficult to find figurine of a little girl knitting made by KPM in the early 20th century around 1913. Superbly modeled and hand painted in the typical Art Nouveau / Jugendstil style of the period. After searching for a bit I found this piece and it was designed by Paul Schley whose initials are impressed on the back of the base. The colors are amazing and the piece seems to be the answer by them to the Meissen Hentschel children which are very sought after but also much more common. The little girl is standing on a simple round base wearing a nice blue dress typical of the period with knitting needles in her hands and a ball oof red yarn under her arm while knitting a red and white scarf or something along those lines. The figure displays nicely but one finger as well as the top of one needle are broken off as shown. The figurine is 7.75 inches tall, 2.625 inches wide and 2.75 inches deep. It is marked underneath with the under glaze blue scepter, the red orb as well as the usual impressed numbers and marks and some painter's marks as shown. Also the red anniversary mark for 1763 - 1913. First choice piece. Not a piece you will see again anytime soon! Please email me for more information or other pictures.
