King Cup & Saucer

This is a cup and saucer made by KPM between 1823 and 1832. It is handpainted with a super detailed portrait of King Wilhelm the third as well as lots of gilding that is edged with different designs but the most elaborate is a ring of oak leaves on the saucer and around the cup. Nicely done handle as well with a row of white raised porcelain perls going up the center. The set is in super condition with almost no wear except the very center well of the saucer where there is a ring of slight wear. There is a small area on the saucer where the gilding was touched up or has a slightly different shade. The cup is 3.75 inches tall plus the handle and 3.125 inches in diameter. The saucer is 1.125 inches tall and 5.75 inches in diameter. Both are marked underneath with the underglaze blue scepter as well as impressed numbers 28 and II on the saucer and painters mark. Saucer is also marked with the rare red eagle mark used to show that it was painted by KPM before they started using the red orb mark. The cup has an impressed 10 and the red eagle mark but it is very light in color. Please email me for more information or other pictures.
