Julius Menzel Plate

This is a plate made by KPM around 1915. It was handpainted by Julius Menzel in the Art Nouveau or Jugendstil style with a snowy winter scene as well as a green leaf and gold trim and a single gold line. The rim is nicely done as well not being the boring old kind. The plate is in perfect condition. It is almost 10 inches in diameter and marked underneath with the underglaze blue scepter, the red orb mark, the black iron cross of World War I, the number 50/55 in black, an artist mark of a circle with a line in black, the impressed letter O with two dots around it and another impressed mark that is hard to make out. Also the plate is artist signed with his initials in the bottom area of one of the houses on the front. Please email me for more information or other pictures.

Price is $1749
