S.M. Yacht Hohenzollern Plate

This is a plate made by KPM in 1914. It is from the service from the royal yacht S.M.Y. Hohenzollern which was the personal ship of Kaiser Wilhelm II from 1893 until 1918. The plate has a nice gold trim to the edge, the top has a flag that states Gott mit uns 1870 (god with us) as well as a black eagle in the center with S.M.Y. under the flag and then Hohenzollern on a blue garland in gold letters. The center depicts a golden chain of the Order of the Black Eagle which was the highest order of chivalry in the Kingdom of Prussia. The central design includes the Kaiser crown to the top, a garland of little black eagles as well as golden medals, a blue ring around the center with gold writing stating HONI SOIT QUI MAL Y PENSE which is Latin for something like 'may he be ashamed who thinks badly of it" from the Order of the Garter . The very center has a script W in it for Wilhelm. A superb design all around! Lots of history attached to the plate and it has a nice look to it as well plus it's hard to find them. The plate is marked underneath with the blue scepter, the red orb, date 1914 in blue, some black Roman numerals and 14 as well as a painter's and gilder's mark near the foot ring and the usual impressed marks as shown. The piece is 1 inch tall and 8.625 inches in diameter. It is In great condition with some very minimal wear. Please email me for more information or other pictures.
