Chamois Scene Plate

This is a superb plate made by KPM around 1860. I have rarely seen such a well painted plate but we all know they painted some superb plaques and the quality fo the large scene in the center is along those lines. The entire well of the plate has a scene of a chamois on it in its natural habitat high in the mountains. There are clouds above and snowy mountains in the background with the chamois standing in the foregrounf on some rocks with a shrub to the bottom left. Nice gold ring around the well and on the rim. It is in super condition with a tiny bit of wear to the gold. The plate is marked underneath with the underglaze blue scepter with the pfennig (penny) mark underneath, the red orb as well as impressed number 1 and an X. The plate is 1.125 inches tall and 8.25 inches in diameter. Please email me for more information or other pictures.

Price is $749
