Fun Chamberstick

This is a superb chamberstick type cnadle holder made by KPM in the early 20th century during the Jugenstil / Art Nouveau period. Not a model one sees often! It is superbly modeled with a lady's head forming the handle, some nice scoll work around the edge highlighted with puce, light yellow and gilding. My favorite part is are the two floral arrangements and two single flowers hand painted on the top and off course the well painted head of a lady. Dark puce and gold trim around the base of the candleholder part that comes out of the center. Some more dark puce trim to the top of it and more gilding. The entire piece is very reminiscent of the Weichmalerei they did during this period but the flowers here are not done in this style just the trim colors remind me of it. The piece is in superb condition with some dirt from use on the inside of the candle holder and possibly some very very minor wear to the lady's head but I think that is the design. As nice as they come! The piece is marked underneath with the under glaze blue scepter, the red orb, an impressed letter N as the year code and a bunch of gilder's / painter's marks as shown. The candlestick is 2.75 inches tall, 6.875 inches from the head to the other end and 5.5 inches deep. Please email me for more information or other pictures.
